Meals from the Heartland greatly appreciates all of the time and effort volunteers contribute leading up to the big packaging event each year. If you wish to volunteer your time and resources to Meals from the Heartland, there are many ways you can help.

Packaging for the Help for Haiti event will be held at:

* Package meals. Individuals and teams of 8-10 people (from church, school, etc.) can sign up to package some of the millions of meals that are sent across the world each year.
* Be an Event Host. Event Hosts help coordinate and organize other volunteers during the packaging event. Responsibilities include checking in meal packaging volunteers, guiding packaging volunteers through the training area, overlooking the meal packaging process and more. Training is provided.
* Be a Supply Station/Dock Volunteer. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing food materials for delivery to the packaging table; opening bags and filling bins, loading bins on manual transports, and stocking packaging areas as needed. Maintaining a clean, organized work area, cleaning and re-stocking packaging areas between shifts. Volunteers trained on location for their shift. Physical requirements: safely lift 52 lbs bags, operate a box knife. Standard shift = 3 hours.
* Be a Packaging Supervisor. In this position, you will be responsible for supervision of general volunteers manning their assigned packaging stations, for maintaining order in their area of responsibility and working with event Volunteer Training/Staging Volunteers to ensure areas are adequately staffed. Must be able to attend pre-event training, minimum shift commitment of 3 hours, volunteers will be provided distinctive hat upon arrival at the venue.
* Be a Set-up & Tear-down Volunteer. In this position, you will be responsible for set up and/or break down of stations, and duties as assigned to get production running. Physical requirements: safely lift 52 lbs and move about with ease. Standard shift = 4 hours.
