With a relatively small group of students and athletes form Drake, we were able to package over 12,000 meals.  It was a great kick off event and we’re looking forward to more success throughout the year!

The packaging events are not only a rewarding experience, but as you’ll see from our Drake MLKing Day kick off event, the participants have a great time!

12,000 meals in a couple of hours is an astounding success.  But we can’t wait for the event in September where we expect to package MILLIONS of meals for those in need!

Meals from the Heartland – Haiti 2008

The efforts made by Meals from the Heartland in 2008 gave these children a more hopeful outlook on the future, knowing that the volunteers and donations from MftH provided their community millions of desperately needed meals.

Brad Krehlik and Mark Aeilts were an integral part of the success Meals from the Heartland had in 2008.  They headed the MftH board and accompanied the delivery of the meals to Haiti in October.

Feeding the Hungry

Nutrition is a valuable addition to these children’s diets. The meals you help us provide to Haiti are the most nutritious meals they’ll have had in a long time and may be their only meal for the week.
